"Like Taymour, developer Paris Starn of Paris99 brought the dream of environment-friendly to NYFW-- to St. Marks Church-in-the-Bowery, to be exact. For her SS20 presentation, Starn brought into play the enchanting mood of the picnic, eating en plein air, communing al fresco. The scene was influenced by the New york city designer's studies in 19th century art background, specifically Manet's well-known "Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe,"which stimulated Starn's attraction with the age's many picnic-scapes. "I started art keeping paintings of barbecues and I recognized that in all these paintings with the exception of 'Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe,' all the women are putting on these huge streaming gowns as well as they blend right into the outing blankets they're eating on. It actually contributed to the wonderful feeling of the outing, the enchanting vibe that everybody connects with a barbecue
