Prior to introducing her namesake accessories label, D'heygere, three years ago, Stéphanie researched style design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Ironically, it was by researching garments that she found her fondness for accessories. During her researches, Stéphanie interned at Maison Martin Margiela, where she discovered herself working in the fashion residence's devices division. "I constantly call it some sort of 'eureka' minute,"she says. "At college I disliked making patterns, yet with accessories, everything fit together. What I truly like regarding devices, and also what was the problem with garments, is you're restricted to function around the body. And also there are numerous different body forms. With devices, it's much extra straight-to-the-point."After her teaching fellowship, Stéphanie was caused at Margiela, where she worked as devices developer for four years.
